Everything You Need to Know About Heatmiser Wiring Centres & Thermostat Accessories
Wiring Centres / Control Hubs
Wiring centres serve as the heart of a water‑based underfloor heating (UFH) system. They centralise all the wiring from thermostats, zone valves, actuators, pump and boiler controls — so that signals from individual thermostats trigger the correct loops without complex wiring in each room. Many wiring centres support 4–8 zones (rooms), making them ideal for whole‑house heating systems with independent room temperature control.
Wired & Programmable Thermostats
These thermostats connect directly to the wiring centre and allow homeowners to set their desired temperature and heating schedule. Whether simple dial/ digital thermostats or advanced programmable models — they enable precise control of water‑UFH systems, helping to maintain comfort and efficiency without manual intervention.
Wireless & RF Thermostats
For installations where running cables is impractical (e.g. renovations, retrofits, or older properties), wireless thermostats paired with a compatible wiring centre offer a clean, flexible solution without rewiring walls. They transmit commands via RF (radio‑frequency) to the wiring centre, then the centre triggers the correct zone valves/actuators.
Accessories — Actuators, Sensors, Boosters, Spare Parts
Accessories complete the UFH control system. These include:
Actuators / zone valves — opened or closed by the wiring centre to allow hot water flow when heating is required.
Sensor probes / external sensors — for accurate room or floor‑temperature sensing where needed, ensuring thermostats trigger heat at correct times and avoid overheating.
Boosters / signal‑repeaters — helpful in larger homes or where wireless signal may be weak, ensuring reliable communication between wireless thermostats and the wiring centre.
Spare or replacement parts — useful for maintenance or expansion of the system.
Why This Category Matters for UFH Installers & Homeowners
Simple installation & neat wiring — Wiring centres centralise all connections, avoiding messy wiring loops in every room.
Zone‑by‑zone control & comfort — Each room can have its own thermostat and heating schedule, so you heat only occupied spaces, improving comfort and reducing energy waste.
Flexible for new builds or retrofits — Wired thermostats for new builds, wireless for remodels — the collection suits different project types.
Ease of expansion or maintenance — Accessories and modular design make it straightforward to add zones, replace parts or upgrade components without overhauling the entire system.
Efficiency & energy savings — Precise controls, scheduling, and independent zones help avoid overheating, reduce boiler or pump use, and cut energy bills.
